What we have done
This site was built aiming to meet the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (Accessibility Adjustments to Service) Regulations, 2013, and Israeli Standard IS 5568 at level AA, which is based on the W3C's WCAG 2.1 guidelines.
- A hierarchical heading structure and a sensible reading order.
- Keyboard navigation and operation, with a clearly visible focus state.
- Alternative text for images that carry information.
- Labels on form fields, with error messages tied to the field they belong to.
- Contrast ratios maintained between text and background, measured on the page as it renders rather than on the markup alone.
- Full right-to-left support and adaptation to different screen sizes.
- Respect for the system preference to reduce motion.
The accessibility menu
A permanent accessibility button sits in the corner of the screen, and behind it a menu of display adjustments. Your choice is stored on your device and is still there on your next visit:
- Larger text, in three steps up to 150%.
- High contrast: white text on black, with links in yellow.
- Grayscale display.
- A plain, readable typeface with normal letter-spacing.
- Every link underlined and outlined.
- Animations and transitions stopped.
- Reset to the original settings.
The menu changes how the site is displayed, never what it says, and it is in addition to the site's own accessibility rather than a substitute for it. For more magnification, your browser's zoom works alongside it.
Parts not yet accessible, and alternatives
Some parts of the site may not yet be fully accessible, including third-party content outside our control — embedded maps and the WhatsApp component, for example.
